The Global Studies Summer Institute (GSSI) is a three-day program for K-12 educators focused on contemporary global issues and their practical applications for the classroom. GSSI features informative presentations by global educators, university experts, and international affairs practitioners, and provides a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences integrating global education across the curriculum.

Each Institute offers area educators the opportunity to:

* Attend lectures and videoconferences with prominent experts on global issues
* Explore local connections to global themes
* Learn from teachers who are integrating global education in the classroom
* Receive an extensive collection of curricular and informational resources aligned with Wisconsin\'s Model Academic Standards
* Network with other educators interested in international issues
* Incorporate international awareness into professional development planning
* Earn Graduate Credit
